Oh wind if thou would grant my wish tonight

March 23, 2010

Oh wind if thou would grant my wish tonight
And whisper gently in her resting ears
These foolish words I cannot help but write,
As if these words could ever draw me near!

Oh clouds that you may form these lowly words
perchance be seen, her sympathy be won,
Her pity may somehow a road secure
Into her heart where better one belongs

But winds will die and clouds be scattered forth
as darkness passes by and true light shines.
The truthfulness of hearts and all the worth
Of wanderings dissuade the faithful minds.

And yet, and yet, tonight the winds do blow
And cloud my heart upon that worthy soul
