Loverly

March 19, 2010

Oh my dear so loverly
Lovely dove dearly loved
Your name is spoken soberly
by cherubims above

Your presence nearly heavenly
Even your sudden jerky tugs
Better than hell most certainly
with your patient strapping hugs

And as you smile bemusedly
When you stab and cut me up
I forgive you dear, for choosing me
to fill your precious cup

The darkness comes so pardon me
For spilling all the blood
Forgive me dear I’ll probably
Slide slowly into the mud

Oh my dear so loverly
Lovely dove dearly loved
Farewell! For you will never be
With me in heaven above.
