irony

March 17, 2010

When desperate pleas for even small relief
Are met with silence, challenging belief
Will grateful words be said habitually
and full of skeptic pain-filled irony?

But only turn the heart, repeat the words
In faith of God whose favor you’ve secured
Not by the works that you have ever done
But by the grace upon the cross that’s shown

For silent answers in relation to
The Final Answer show the hidden truth:
For when our wanton hearts cannot be ceased
Shows not His lack of love but our disease

Our iron hearts may easily then miss
This irony of violent bloody kiss
