I wait for you

April 20, 2009

As nameless strangers pass me by,
I plug my ears, avoid their eyes.
I wait for you. Here, I wait for you.
I wait for you to come.

The sun traverses across the sky,
and finally beyond the horizons sigh.
I wait for you. Here, I wait for you.
I wait to be undone.

The swollen moon unveils the night,
that’s filled with distant, dying lights.
I wait for you, still I wait for you.
as night awaits the sun.

When final breath escapes my lungs,
I’ll see the place where I belong.
You wait for me.  I wait for you,
to come and dry my eyes.
